Technical Features

Readers and Connectivity

What different modes are available on microsensys RFID readers?

The RFID readers support two modes:

  • SPC (Script Programmed Communication).
  • DOC (Direct Online Communication).

How can SPC mode be configured or a different SPC script be loaded onto the reader?

There is a detailed presentation from the support team ("Bluetooth SPP Configurations rev002.pdf") that explains the process.

Can USB RFID readers be operated in HID mode?

With the iID® HID converter, the device can also be operated as an HID keyboard.

How can the firmware of a microsensys RFID reader be updated?

Use the iID® Interface Configuration Tool:
Navigate to "i" → "Update" (see documentation for details).

How can Bluetooth issues with the iID® PENsolid or iID® POCKETwork be resolved?

Perform a BT reset. Detailed instructions can be found in the sales documentation:
"Bluetooth HID Configurations rev002.pdf".

My Bluetooth reader is not connecting. What should I do?

Step 1: Check if the reader is already connected to another device.

Step 2: Check the Bluetooth LED or the Bluetooth symbol on the display. If the LED flashes or the symbol does not show three waves → the device is searching for a connection.

Step 3: On your end device, search for the reader name + serial number in the connection overview.

Step 4: If the device is already shown as paired:

  • Remove pairing
  • Reconnect device

Step 5: For the correct device settings, use the Interface Configuration Tool.

Step 6: If the connection still does not work:
Perform a Bluetooth reset using the Interface Configuration Tool.

Sensors and Transponders

Why is the TELID®300 logger not working or showing error code (0x2C)?

According to the TELID®300 error code documentation, this code most likely indicates that the battery is empty.

What is the ambient temperature range for TELID® devices?

Recommended: -30 °C to +25 °C.
Maximum operating range: up to +150 °C (special PEEK version).
Not suitable for use in acids or hazardous environments.

How can I write data to transponders?

HF Transponders:

For HF transponders, DEMOsoft is sufficient for simple tasks. For mass initialization, we recommend INITtool. For complex or customized solutions, please contact us.

UHF Transponders:

For UHF transponders, you can use DEMOsoft to write to user memory for simple tasks. For full programming, you can use the EPC Programmer (Android), or contact us for a complete customized solution.

Can the data on the transponder be overwritten?

Basically, yes. Depending on the transponder type, data can be overwritten with our tools (DEMOsoft, INITtool, EPC Programmer).
You can also set transponders to read-only (fully or partially) to prevent overwriting.

Can I set a password to protect against overwriting?

Yes. Most transponders support this function.
Please let us know your transponder type so we can check compatibility.
